Night Night was adapted from the Will Eno play 'Tragedy' and produced as a film by Division 13 productions in 2000. The story is described by Eno thus: "The sun has set over streets of houses, government buildings, and American backyards everywhere. Part of the world has grown dark. A news team is on the scene. Their report: someone left the lawn sprinklers on; someone's horse is loose; a seashell is lying in the grass; dogs run by; it's dark out. The Governor issues excited statements appealing for calm. It is nighttime in the northwest of the world. Everyone is afraid. Everyone doesn't know if the sun, once down, will ever rise again. But there is a witness, and the witness will speak."
Alan plays Michael the Legal Advisor opposite Amy Sedaris, whom he appeared with in Strangers With Candy. The producer / director Joanna Settle told Alan Tudyk Dot Net that the edit of Night Night was unfinished and the film was currently unavailable for screening. A rough edit was screened at the Angelika Film Centre in New York in 2001.
