Alan was born in El Paso, Texas. The state bird of Texas is the mockingbird. He lived in Plano growing up but moved to Los Angeles, California, because that's where actors live, you see? The state bird of California is the California Valley Quail. Brilliant!
Alan was born in 1971 on March 16th. Nothing important happened on that day in history, but Mungo Jerry were number one in the UK charts, so good for them. Alan is a Pisces. Pisceans are generally evil, the type of person who would put smartie tubes on a cat's legs, just to make him walk like a robot, but we're sure Alan's not like that.
Alan's middle name is Wray, which means 'from the corner property', but we doubt that his parents knew that, and probably named him after the legendary guitarist and inventor of the power chord, Link Wray.
Alan is single and doesn't have any children, which we cunningly concluded from this quote, "I still don’t have a wife and children." Alan has many fans on various Firefly message boards, but the odds of him selecting a wife from that thin arena are slim to say the least.
Alan is currently playing Movie Role Top Trumps and winning. His current form runs like this : Squire, Stripper, Pirate, Robot, Pilot. His role in RX is a gay drug dealer named Pepe, worth 2045 points.
Alan says "I was a real ham as a child. I'd insist on dressing up as a cowboy whenever the family went out for dinner. In high school, I was a menace. I'd fake nose bleeds and fainting spells to panic my teachers." What a weirdo!
Alan never went to his High School prom, because his date abandoned him, and got pregnant the same night. Not that he's still bitter, as this quote shows : "If she would have just... kept it in her pants she would have had a different life! But she kept putting me off, about prom night. Then I found out from her best friend, 'Hey, you know what she was doing that entire time? Fred, that's what she was doing!'
Alan was - according to the IMDB - an active member of Delta Psi Omega at Lon Morris Junior College, and was voted Sophomore Beaus. I have no idea what either of those things mean.
Alan attended Juilliard, a very prestigious performing arts college in New York, but left before getting his degree. He has since attended to take part in charity evenings (and maybe to show off a little bit). Other Juilliard almuni include Kevin Kline, Nina Simone and Kevin Spacey.
On hearing that Firefly was cancelled, Alan threw a 'We Don't Work For Fox Anymore' party. Ingrate!
